VADIP offers discounted private dental insurance to Veterans and family members who meet certain rules. It began as a temporary program and is now a permanent VA program with no end date. VA does not give you free dental care through VADIP. You buy the insurance at a reduced cost.
Who qualifies
A Veteran who is enrolled in VA health care, or
a current or surviving spouse or a dependent child who is enrolled in CHAMPVA.
VA's dental care page points people who do not qualify for VA dental care to VADIP. If you may qualify for VA dental care itself (for example a compensable service-connected dental condition, or a 100 percent rating), check that first. See the TMJ and VA Dental Care page in this binder.
