Getting out. Landing on your feet.

Twenty years in uniform, and two years inside the transition office at Fort Riley. We help transitioning Soldiers, veterans, military spouses and local community members work out what comes next. The 100+ page veteran binder, the benefit pages, the free calculators and the business start guides are free to download for anyone who asks, anywhere in the United States. The in-person work — job and education fairs, and small business consulting — is Junction City, Manhattan and Fort Riley.

Where are you standing?

Everything here sorts into two piles. Pick the one that is you and start there.

Still in uniform

The clock is running

You have a date. What you do with the months in front of it decides how the first year out goes.

  • SkillBridge — work a civilian job on military pay in your last 180 days
  • Job and education fairs, so you meet employers before you need one
  • A six-month runway worked out on paper before you separate
  • Buying the house while your military pay still counts
Already out

The part nobody told you

Benefits you never claimed, a rating that was never finished, and deadlines that expired quietly.

  • Ten benefits almost nobody claims, with the catch on each one stated plainly
  • How the VA actually combines ratings, and why 95 is not 100
  • Retirees, surviving spouses and families — six programs and who to call
  • Free travel and lodging programs, including two lifetime park passes

What we do for you

The advice above is free. This is the work we charge for — the errands and the day-of jobs that eat a week you do not have. One phone number. Call or text — a veteran answers either way.

01

Job & education fairs

For employers and schools that are hiring or recruiting

A table, two chairs, and a room full of transitioning Soldiers and local job seekers. We handle employer recruitment, advertising, setup, food vendors, and social media coverage on the day. You show up and meet people. A single job fair puts 80 hiring companies in one room, so a job seeker meets them all in an afternoon instead of sending 80 applications.

"We get applications, but they don't show up for the interview."

02

Small business consulting

For owners who are busy and still not sure they are making money

We work inside the business, not from a slide deck. What one plate or one job actually costs to produce, where the workflow is losing you time, what the place looks like from the street, and a thirty-day log so the change can be measured instead of guessed at.

"We're busy every night and I still can't tell you what we cleared."

03

Mobile notary

For anyone who needs a document notarized without driving to a bank

Licensed in Kansas. We come to you — your house, your office or the hospital. Powers of attorney, affidavits, bills of sale, deployment and PCS paperwork. Not open for appointments yet. Hours and pricing will be posted before we open.

Coming soon

Also available — ask when you call

Coming soon

Laser engraving

Names, retirement and farewell gifts, tumblers and plaques. Small runs welcome — one piece is a job. Not open for orders yet; ask to be told when it starts.

Coming soon Companion Trails

Mobile dog care

Not boarding — your dog stays yours and sleeps at home. Two-hour outings to the dog park or the lake, in-van treadmill sessions, yard cleanup, and rides to and from the vet. Not open for bookings yet; ask to be told when it starts.

Starting your own business

Over 110 start guides, written for somebody who has never run anything. Each one is a single document that takes you from "I have an idea" to a first paying customer — legal setup, the law you become subject to, what to charge, and the three places people get stuck. Written to work anywhere in the country.

The guide

Pick your trade

One business, one document, 8 to 14 pages. No filler and no motivational padding — verified licensing, real cost ranges, and the parts nobody tells you.

  • Trades: handyman, painting, mobile mechanic, screen printing, welding, gunsmith
  • Food: catering, meal prep, mobile coffee, ice cream, candy
  • Services: tutoring, property management, senior care, private investigator, insurance
  • Retail and product: boutique, thrift, surplus, print on demand, ecommerce
The service

Make it your town

The guide teaches the method. This is us running it for you — who already holds the work where you live, what their customers complain about, what your city and state actually require, and where the opening is.

  • A market check on your own zip code, not a generic one
  • Your state and city licensing, checked and cited
  • What the incumbents are bad at, from their own reviews
  • Delivered by email, written to your business, not a template
Not open yet

Finishing up — operational 2 Oct 2026. The guides are written and the market checks are ready, but we are not taking orders or payment until after 30 September 2026. Nothing on this page can be bought today. When orders open, we accept credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App Pay, and bank transfer (ACH) — processed through Square.

The veteran material stays free. The binder, the calculators and every benefits page on this site are free and always will be. These guides are a different thing for a different reason — they took months to research and they are how the free half keeps being free.

Who we work with

Not everything we do is for one person at a time. Veteran’s Strategic Solutions also works with employers, school districts, nonprofits and municipalities across the Fort Riley area — putting hiring companies and schools in the same room as the people looking for them, and sitting down with owners who need a plan they can actually run.

Employers

Job and education fairs that put you in front of transitioning Soldiers, veterans, spouses and local job seekers — in an afternoon, not a hiring season.

Schools & colleges

A table at every fair, in front of people deciding what to do with a GI Bill they have not spent yet. 52 schools have worked with us so far.

Owners & organizations

Small business consulting for owners in Junction City, Manhattan and Fort Riley — a plan on paper, in plain language, that fits the money you actually have.

About us

The support structure you lose the day you separate — rebuilt on the outside.

Veteran’s Strategic Solutions LLC is a veteran-owned business run out of Junction City, Kansas, working nationwide. Most of what we do travels: the 100+ page veteran binder, the benefit and rating pages on this site, the free calculators, and the business start guides — all of it is a free download to anyone in the United States who asks. A market check written for your own zip code is available anywhere in the country as well; that one is paid. The in-person work covers Junction City, Manhattan, Fort Riley and the surrounding area: job and education fairs, and small business consulting. Mobile notary, mobile dog care and laser engraving are coming.

That is what we rebuild, and we do it for veterans, military families and local community members. We make it easier, and we come to you.

The veteran binder runs 100+ pages covering VA disability, healthcare, education benefits, housing and financial planning. It is a free download, and it goes to anyone who asks.

Founded and run by a retired Sergeant First Class with twenty years in the Marine Corps and Army. Every Soldier leaving the service wants the same thing we all wanted: somebody willing to give them a fair shot.

The veteran binder

Over one hundred pages on the benefits veterans and their families actually need to find — gathered in one place, sorted by the problem you're trying to solve, and added to continuously.

It started as a stack of handouts. It kept growing because veterans kept asking questions nobody had answered for them.

What you earned

VA disability claims · evidence templates · rating criteria and secondary conditions · noise exposure tables by MOS · VA health care · pension and Aid & Attendance

What comes after

Starting a business · business credit · bookkeeping and payroll · second-career trades · personal finance · travel, lodging and veteran discounts

Written by us, only in the binder

  • VA House Hack — Two Ways to Get the House Buy the duplex before you separate, qualify on your military pay and BAH, and rent the other side from day one. Or buy after you get out and let the GI Bill housing allowance and your tenant carry the mortgage while you go to school. Both routes worked out step by step, with a calculator.
  • Veteran Trucking Career Pathway Freedom Haulers, the federal CDL waivers that can skip your road test, your written test, and the entry-level training you would otherwise pay for — plus how to use the GI Bill for school or get paid wages and a housing allowance through an apprenticeship.

Free. Browse it right now — no email, no wait.

Every page is live on the site today. Open the full binder → Download what you need and share it with whoever else needs it.
